Republic, Missouri is located in both Christian and green counties in Missouri. The population of Republic has nearly doubled since 2000 to 14,300 residents living there today. During the early part of the city’s history the location played a vital role in shipping and travel as it is located along the Frisco Railroad line. The first building of the city was a general store built by a man named W.H. Noe and is currently the site of the Bacon Tire Company. Today, Republic celebrates its past with the preservation of some of its earliest buildings and businesses which are prominent throughout the city.

Parks & Recreation

Republic is a tight knit community which focuses on the happiness of its citizens. The city has more than 100 acres of land through the city designated as recreational parks. Through the Republic Parks and Recreation department many annual events are planned for residents to enjoy, including the annual father/daughter valentines dance and The Battle of Wilson’s Creek Reenactment held every August to commemorate the historic event. The Republic Aquatic center is another favorite amenity residents enjoy year round with an exciting water park complete with splash and spray features, a surfing simulator and even a corkscrew and speed water slide. The aquatic center in addition offers lap swimming, shade structures, Cruise style chaise lounge chairs and a pool house with concessions and a locker room.

Community, Schools & Education

Real estate in Republic has become highly desirable as it has been reported according to the 2000 Census that Republic has one of the nation’s highest homeownership rates at just under 76%, which is roughly 18% higher than the national average and 5% higher than the state average. The average home price for real estate in the Republic area is $93,900. Republic is within the R-lll school district and in 2010 a new high school was built to meet the increase in enrollment. Currently there are about 1,400 students at the high school. In 2007 the R-lll school district was recognized for having a graduation rate which was 7% higher than the state average at 92.7 percent and boasts a student /teacher ration of 15-1, and reports 4 out of every 5 students in the R-lll school district goes on to further education by entering collage or a university.

Republics prime location, just a 10 minute drive from the major metropolitan area of Springfield allows its residents the opportunity to enjoy living in a quaint small town without being to far from big city amenities.
